This is a Ralph McQuarrie illustration from the Isaac Asimov story “Robbie”.. something about this illustration just struck me the first time I saw it. I love that it’s black and gray and kind of stark looking, yet at the same time full of emotion and warmth between Robbie and Gloria (the little girl.) Done by Bennett Edwards at Trinity Tattoo in Virginia Beach. He’s awesome. Go give him your money.
